This standard-wall threaded insert kit is for users repairing threaded holes in aluminum, cast iron, magnesium, and other soft metals. It helps create a durable new threaded connection so the repaired location can accept a fastener.
The solid carbon steel threaded insert has an M10-1.5 x M16-2.0 designation and standard-size, standard-pitch external threads. It installs by drilling, tapping, and threading with standard tools; installation can be completed with a screwdriver, bolt, and jam nut or an optional power drive tool. Pre-applied microencapsulated adhesive activates during installation, and the insert is fastener-ready in 3 to 5 minutes.
