Aquastats

Aquastats are temperature-control components used in HVAC, oil heating, and hydronic heating applications to manage operating limits and circulator operation. HVAC technicians, facility maintenance teams, and heating professionals use them for service, replacement, and control installations where temperature-based switching, high-limit protection, low-limit control, or remote sensing is required.

Compare aquastats first by the required control function: dedicated high-limit, high/low-limit, manual-reset high-limit, circulator control, or combination hydronic heating control. Confirm the available temperature range and differential, including fixed options such as 2°F, 5°F, 8°F, and 10°F or adjustable differentials from 5°F to 30°F. Installation details also matter, including 120V operation for applicable oil-system relays, vertical or strap-on mounting, remote bulbs with capillary lengths from 39 to 66 inches, and break-on-rise action. For installations requiring an immersed sensing element, compare the immersion well's pipe connection, insertion diameter, well depth, and stated control compatibility.
