This small piercing valve is an HVAC service component for technicians working with compatible copper tubing. It provides a sealed connection point on 1/4 in., 5/16 in., or 3/8 in. tubing for installation and maintenance work.

The valve uses a gasket type similar to those used beneath the head plate of many air-conditioning compressors. During installation, the gasket compresses the copper tubing by 0.020 in. to form a permanent leakproof seal. It is compatible with 1/4 in., 5/16 in., and 3/8 in. copper tubing and is supplied as one valve.
